Insurance & Costs

  • Yes, our team of certified billers and schedulers will verify your insurance during the initial screening and can inform you about coverage and out-of-pocket costs (if you are determined to be a candidate).

  • We offer self-pay options and can discuss financing plans if needed.

  • Yes, we can provide information on third-party financing options.

  • We accept major credit cards, HSA/FSA payments, and financing plans.

General Questions

  • An ideal candidate would be a younger patient with no instability, good bone quality, and minimal arthritis who has failed conservative treatments.

  • Depends on your insurance. Simply fill out the online form, and our team will review your case to make that determination.

  • Yes! We offer telemedicine consultations for patients unable to travel initially. This is not covered by insurance and the initial visit would need to be self pay/cash.

  • The most common conditions include herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, lumbar or cervical radiculopathy, arthritis, and more.

COnsultation & EValuation

  • You’ll discuss your medical history, imaging results, symptoms, and potential treatment options with Dr. Webb.

  • Yes, we require that you mail in your imaging studies and records for review before your appointment. Your appointment will be cancelled if we do not have this information. 

    Due to HIPPA and security issues, we cannot accept uploaded forms of imaging studies

  • If you’re a candidate, we can typically schedule surgery within a few weeks, depending on availability.

  • If additional imaging, lab work, or specialist clearance is required, we will assist in coordinating it. 

    The majority of patients will need at a minimum a CT scan of your affected area, an MRI within a year, and X-rays.

Surgery & Recovery

  • Surgeries are performed at South Texas Spine & Surgical Hospital or an affiliated facility. You can learn more here: https://southtexassurgical.com/

  • Lumbar disc replacement surgeries require the assistance of a vascular surgeon to help with the approach. Vessels in front of the abdomen need to be mobilized to place the implants.

  • Yes, having a family member or friend assist you after surgery is highly recommended. Click here for more information for out of town patients.

  • We offer telemedicine follow-ups and can coordinate with a local physician if needed. Click here for more information for out of town patients.

  • Recovery varies by procedure, but most patients return to light activities within 2-6 weeks and full recovery in 3-6 months.

  • The implant type depends on a lot of different factors, such as your anatomy, how many levels, and your bone quality. This will be discussed during your visit.
